District 2 Director Message
Fellow Toastmaster,
Today, Wednesday, June 30, 2021, at 11:00 PM PST, marks the end of my four-year Toastmasters district leadership journey started as Area 53 Director on July 1, 2017. Now, I’m honored to be part of the Seattle International 10 Toastmasters for Past District 2 Governors & Directors.
I’m grateful and proud to have the opportunity to serve, and the trust and support from members, my teams, teammates, and leaders in District 2, 2019-2020 Program Quality Directors, this year’s District Directors peers — all the special District Directors in Region 1 and global District Directors Group in Whatsapp, Toastmasters International, mentors — Molly George, Mary Morrison, Sandy Malone, Todd Cudaback, Sandy Marshall, Eric Vaughn, Omar Rivas, Jim Sultan, and more, Region Advisors — Mary Swanson & Sondra Nunez, International Directors — Marry Morrison & Naomi Takeuchi, past 3 years Trio members — Molly George, Baxter Kent, Victor Bloomfield, Heather Watson, and Becky Fischer, Public Relation Manager — Donna Stolz, Finance Manager — Mary Redman, Admin Manager — Susan Swift, Division Directors — Tina Tate, Melissa Barnes, Molly Shor, Kenneth Karu-Olsen, Teresa Lindahl, Megan Buchner, and Reddy Njau, Assistant Division Directors, 39 Area Directors, Assistant Area Directors, Advanced Training Chairs 2019-2021 — Rebecca Murray, Tommy Price, and Barbara Visser, the 2020 District 2 Online Taskforce, Conference Chairs and Conference Teams 2018-2021, and everyone involved in making District 2 training and events phenomenal. Last but not least, I want to thank an extraordinary Area 53 Director 2016-2017, Liem Luong, for the District 2 Spark Plug Award when I served as the Kirkland Eclectics Club President. I wouldn’t have a fast track to the top 3rd District leadership position — Club Growth Director– a year ahead without Molly George, 2018-2019 District 2 Director. Thanks for the recognition and for asking me to serve on the Trio in December 2018. As Todd Cudaback, Past District 2 Director, said, “Recognition sparks ambition.” Because of Liem, I said yes to serve as Area 53 Director in the 2017-2018 term.
Significant benefits worth noting, I completed many speeches and projects while serving as a district officer and learning the Pathways Education Programs for my Program Quality Director role. As a result, I achieved my legacy Distinguished Toastmaster (DTM) on July 1, 2018, and the Pathways DTM on December 28, 2020.
Toastmasters International’s Mission is to empower individuals to become more effective communicators and leaders — Toastmasters.org. Making leaders wherever I go has been one of the best habits that I acquired from Toastmasters.
It’s been an honor and privilege to serve District 2. THANK YOU!
