A Farewell Message as District 2 Director!
Many thanks to YOU for a remarkable and memorable Toastmasters year. Thank you for reading this message and especially for being part of the District 2 Toastmasters journey with me and this year’s district leadership team!
Don’t Count the Points, Do Care for the People — what I shared while I served as Club Growth Director and it was the foundation for the start of my Program Quality Director year just in time for the COVID pandemic in early 2020, where that mindset was needed most.
On July 1, 2020, we started the year with Inspire. Empower. Impact+ to Achieve Excellence Together. Our focus for this year was to support our members.
Congrats and thanks to D2 members, clubs, and district leaders, ALL Area Directors, Division Directors, District Staff, Public Relation Manager — Donna Stolz, Club Growth Director — Becky Fisher, and Program Quality Director — Heather Watson for your dedication and service. You DID IT to the BEST of YOUR ABILITY.
912 — New memberships
4,644 — from renewals
Total: 5,717 membership counts — Excellent!!!
There are 3.5K+ members in District 2 whose lives are changed forever in many great ways.
The Advanced Training Committee offered more relevant training this year to support contests, Zoom training, and leadership training led by Tommy Price.
We officially have a Rotary Toastmasters Alliance in District 2 led by Todd Cudaback with the support of Stephany, Becky Fischer, Donna, and more.
We also offered Accredited Speaker Program Support Committee training led by Angela Barrus, Rebecca Murray, and Linda Vorthman.
We finally launched our new website (thanks to Molly George who started this initiative back in 2018). With the new website, we empowered clubs to promote their events on the D2TM.ORG website.
We also opened up Social Media and extended the power of social media reach to clubs,
thanks to Donna Stolz and her PR team.
We provided funding and incentives to clubs to promote their clubs in various ways.
We had a REMARKABLE, multi-day conference and contests this year with multiple education sessions and jam-packed with fun and education with powerful impacts. Thanks to our conference chair, Megan Buchner, and the extraordinary conference team.
THOSE ARE THE POSITIVE & EXCELLENT IMPACTS that WE ACHIEVED TOGETHER THIS YEAR 2020-2021!
As District leaders, it’s our job to make sure we support next year’s leaders. Thank you very much to every single member of Seattle International 10, a special club for past District Governors and District Directors, for their support since I started on my District leadership journey. Today, I want to thank my past DDs that I was on the Trio with. #1. Molly George for quietly mentoring a few District officers this year. #2. Baxter Kent for taking care of Starburst, Moment of Truth, and so much more. #3. My current Trio, Heather Watson and Becky Fischer + Quad, including Donna Stolz, for their support.
I am now part of Seattle International 10 and I’m here to support Heather and her incoming team. I want to invite you all to our Leadership Studio – Seattle International 10 – July 24th, 1-3 pm. The interview is done by the prior Immediate Past District 2 Director, Baxter Kent.
Lots of love and gratitude!
It was my honor to serve you as District 2 Director 2020-2021.
Sincerely yours,
—
